Dental Program for Schools

The college is dedicated to offering routine educational programs that involve assessing oral health, offering advice, presenting treatment choices, and scheduling dental treatment appointments at the college clinics. 5th-grade students are involved in this procedure under the supervision of our trainers in the Department of Pedodontics and Community Oral Health. Students are required to participate in the school program, which occurs annually. Students appreciate the visits. They engage in community service and, with the support of dental suppliers, distribute toothbrushes and toothpaste to schoolchildren. The school dentistry program is a praiseworthy project that encourages oral health and fosters a spirit of community service among the kids. The program is centered on the following subjects:

1. Conduct regular evaluations to analyze the program’s efficacy and receive input from students, teachers, and parents. This will help pinpoint areas for improvement and implement required changes.
2. Enhance instructional Elements: In addition to screening and treatment, include instructional lessons on oral hygiene, correct brushing and flossing methods, and the significance of routine dental examinations. Organize interactive workshops or presentations to engage pupils effectively.
3. Form partnerships with local dental professionals or clinics to offer further resources, specialized knowledge, or volunteer assistance to enhance our program. This partnership can provide students with firsthand experience of actual dentistry procedures and potential career paths.
4. Organize campaigns or events in the school community to raise awareness about oral health and its effects on general well-being. Distribute information and promote healthy behaviors using posters, booklets, or social media channels.
5. Utilize technology like dental apps or interactive websites to enhance educational resources and monitor kids; oral health development. This can enhance the engagement and accessibility of learning for students.
6. Evaluate the sustainability of our program by examining continuing funding, support from stakeholders, and inclusion into the school curriculum. Establish enduring collaborations with sponsors and suppliers to ensure the continuous availability of vital resources.
7. Enhance Outreach Initiatives: Explore the possibility of expanding your program to include underserved neighborhoods or nearby schools. Utilizing mobile dental units or organizing outreach activities can effectively target a broader demographic and cater to unfulfilled oral health requirements.
8. Empower student leaders by creating a student dentistry club or committee to oversee program activities, promote oral health initiatives, and advocate for healthy behaviors in the school community.
